Medical Tattooing FAQ
-
We ask that you refrain from blood-thinning substances 24 hours before your appointment. E.g., caffeine, alcohol, fish oil, turmeric supplements, and blood thinning medications (CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST)!
-
They are known as blood thinners. We don't want a lot of bleeding when the needle touches the skin. When you consume these things, the more you will bleed during the procedure and the more chance of scabbing you will have. The pigment can be picked out with the scab. This will result in a longer process for achieving what you want.
-
The cost of a Medical tattoo can vary depending on the area we are treating. However, it is usually in the range of $350-$1500 by the body area. We will discuss the exact price during the consultation.
-
Healing time is 4-8 weeks. It varies depending on each individual. The skin will be red and inflamed immediately after the procedure; sunburn-type soreness goes away in a day or two. Redness remains for 1-2 weeks, turns light brown between 2-4 weeks, then starts fading between 4-8 weeks. Between 6-8 weeks, you will come back for a touchup, which is covered in the initial cost. Some people may need to come back a third or fourth time, it dramatically varies as all scarring is different, and we are working with already compromised skin. Therefore, it can take a little longer to achieve the desired results. You may or may not experience dryness and peeling.
-
Medical tattoo/ scar camouflage penetrates the skin. Therefore, a small amount of discomfort will be experienced. The majority of clients do not require numbing cream. We have found it is better if we don't use numbing cream to avoid interference with the purity and insertion of pigment into the skin. However, there are some procedures we do use numbing for the client's comfort. Please discuss your case during your consultation.
-
We won't be able to match the exact skin tone if you are tanned. For best results, please come when the skin returns to its normal skin tone.
-
The number of sessions required depends on the type of scarring, but typically, it's advised to undergo between 2-5 sessions for the best results.
-
No, there is no downtime. You can resume your normal activities immediately after the session is completed.
-
While the risk of infection exists whenever the skin is open, we take extensive precautions to minimize this risk. We use pre-sterilized disposable equipment for each client and procedure, along with strict hygiene practices such as using new needles, gloves, and cleaning wipes. The treated area is cleansed with Viraclean before and after every client to ensure cleanliness and safety.
-
Yes, all products used are both vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
-
We do not recommend using numbing cream before your treatments, as it may interfere with pigment insertion and increase pain sensitivity. Additionally, we advise female clients to schedule sessions around their monthly cycle to avoid heightened pain sensitivity.
-
Tanning and fake tanning are strictly prohibited for 20-30 days post-treatment to prevent hyperpigmentation. Direct sun exposure or tanning beds should be avoided for 6 weeks after treatment. If the area is still not fully healed after 20-30 days, continued sun avoidance is necessary. Please consult with your Paramedical Tattoo Artist before tanning to ensure the area is healed.
-
The duration of a session can range from 1-3 hours depending on the size and areas being treated.

During the First 48 Hours:
Wash the area with antiseptic soap if possible
Pat dry the area
Apply the aftercare balm morning and night, as needed
Wear clean, loose clothing to protect the treated area
Ensure clean bed sheets
Day 2: Routine for 7 Days:
Apply the aftercare balm every 4 to 6 hours to stimulate healing
Avoid scratching; apply more aftercare balm if itchy
Do not remove scabs; allow them to naturally fall off
During the First 10 Days, Never:
Take baths (swimming pool, beach, bathtub, spa)
Use saunas
Engage in excessive sweating
Expose the treated skin to excessive heat, suffocation, or friction/rubbing
Wear tight clothing such as jeggings or tight jeans
Expect redness and slight itching during the healing process, followed by darkening of the area, which is normal. The final result will be visible after 4-8 weeks, depending on individual healing speed. If you experience nausea, you may take paracetamol, but avoid ibuprofen to prevent complications.
Teeth Whitening FAQ
-
Each appointment is around 1.5 hours from consultation to finish with 60 min under the light. Sensitivity treatment packages are two hour long appointments.
-
Generally, no. This method of teeth whitening is non-invasive and doesn't require the same repetitiveness and long wear of dental trays or strips and isn't as harsh as cheaper at home products. Most people don't need a sensitivity treatment add-on but it is an option just in case.
-
This varies person to person. Enamel density, age, and diet all play external factors, but generally someone will get around 9-10 shades lighter in one session, and those sessions are spaced out every 3-4 months.
-
You can still whiten but keep in mind peroxide will only react and lift staining from organic enamel.
-
If you have questions on whether you are healthy enough for whitening or dental questions, they are best directed to your dental office. We won't whiten those who have obvious issues with their enamel or teeth, such as unstable teeth, bleeding, etc. but some issues are not visible and should be brought up to your dentist.
